Hotels in North Wales

There are lots of ways to enjoy a holiday in North Wales but for a real break from routine having someone prepare breakfast every day does it for me! As a working mother of two small children when me and my husband decided on a holiday in North Wales last year it helped us to change all our lives for the better.

Family fun

Touring

We had considered hiring a caravan but because we'd had a caravan holiday the year before in the South of England and we had felt restricted in the distance we could travel to each day, I suggested we splash out and enjoy the luxury of hotels.

During our 2 week break we enjoyed staying at 4 different locations and found that although each hotel was different to the last, every hotel we stayed at was fantastic.

First stop was in Betws y Coed in Conwy. The children loved the railway museum and the little shops and the walking. Next was Llanberis in Gwynedd, home of Electric Mountain, the excellent hotel & restaurant the Gallt y Glyn (fantastic Pizza's and they are great with kids!) and the Snowdon Mountain railway.

We went on to The Gazelle Hotel on the banks of the Menai Straits on Anglesey. A real treat for us grown ups that was! Luxurious rooms and fantastic restaurant. The kids loved the boats coming to the landing stage and eating their dinner on the bench tables outside next to the water.

And then on to Llandudno for seaside fun and visits to the Pier and the Great Orme with a welcome rest from cleaning and cooking me and hubby were really getting used to this by now!

feet on a beach

The joy of a Cooked Breakfast and no washing up!

One of the best things was getting up and getting ready for a day on the beach or walking the hills and knowing I didn't have to cook breakfast or clear pots or anything other than enjoy my family and the day ahead.

This made such a difference to our family that when we went back home my husband and I started to think seriously about our lives. We realised that our lives were lacking in certain qualities that we had tasted on our hotel holiday.

We had become slaves to our lifestyle at home and started to really look at how we could make more time for our family life together. That was summer last year and I'm pleased to report that because of those lovely hotels in North Wales our quality of life is much better.

All year round breaks

Over the winter we have visited North Wales a number of times for long weekends and have discovered that Wales is beautiful at all seasons of the year. Believe me, if you have never visited Snowdonia National Park in winter you cannot imagine the magnificence and beauty of those mountains covered in snow, and the waves on the beaches can be powerful and awesome in winter. We wouldn't give up our mini holidays now, and I can't wait to stay for two whole weeks (in hotels of course!) in the Summer.
